Snug Land and Coast Care Group Working Bee March 20

The Snug Land and Coast Care Group meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month for a working bee.

The next working bee will be held from 10am to 12 noon, Sunday 20 March behind the Caravan Park on Pearsall Street, near the corner of Beach Rd, SNUG.

The goal of this working bee is to remove the remaining shrub-weeds in the first section of the drain-gully, to continue removing weeds along the bank, and to plant near the gully and on the bank.

Wear sturdy shoes and dress to be protected from the sun.

Cleaning up Feral Oysters at Snug Beach 11am Sunday 27 February 2011

Feral oysters at the Snug River/ Beach estuary lodge themselves on the banks and in the bed. They spread up river and into the mouth, making life harder for the birdlife and for people who use the river to swim and launch boats.

This Sunday 27 February at 11am, the local Scout group are having a working bee to remove these oysters. All are welcome. Meet at the Scout shed near the boat ramp--bring a hat, gloves and wear suitable footwear.

The Snug Land and Coast Care Group meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month for a working bee.

The goal for the 1st working bee of 2011 is to remove the remaining shrub-weeds in the first section of the drain-gully, to continue removing weeds along the bank, and to plant near the gully and on the bank.
